Prescribed burns in Ohio and Kentucky

Select photos from prescribed burns, beginning in early 2017. Documentation of these events is important for the advancement of conservation efforts. My work with the Wilds and and the University of Kentucky has given me the chance to engage more groups with this project. Each operation has its unique challenges and photo opportunities. The way this shapes a burn is always fascinating.

Conservation at The Wilds

In 2016, I spent six months with the Wilds, learning about conservation and helping them collect data. During that time, I also researched, and honed my skills in collecting and creating low cost, high resolution remote sensing data, in both visible and non visible wavelengths. We hope to continue this work in the following years.
